ARTIST OF THE WEEK:Robert Carter(Photographer)http://rcarterphoto.carbonmade.com/

R. Carter

:photography:
I Had The Pleasure Of Going To High School With Robert Carter From 2004-2007. We Attended Central Senior High School In Capitol Heights MD . He Graduated In 2007 With Honors. We Became Friends Roughly In 2005. Before Photography Robert First Had A Passion For Modeling. I Began Modeling In 2007 & Thats Where We Became Friends. We Helped Put Together A Performance For A Competition In Prince Georges County Called "The Catwalk Classics". That Year Our School Won Second Place Redeeming Ourselves From The Previous Year!
Robert Is Now 20 Years Old & Currently Attends The Art Institute Of Philadelphia, Where He Majors In "JUST" Photography. I Had The Pleasure Of Doing A Photoshoot With Him At The Beginning Of The Summer(2009). I Myself Wasnt Only Impressed By His Talents But Many Others As Well. When I Showed People Pictures From My Shoot They Were So Blown Away By His Work! My Shots Were Basically To Get Me Off The Ground Since I Wanted To Do Print Modeling Professionally. I Have To Say That, That Was One Hell Of A Way To Get Off The Ground! & Like They Say The Proof Is In The Pooding........
Roberts Work Speaks Entirely For Itself. I Can Honestly Say That He Has A Strong And Committed Passion For His Work. Robert Not Only Produces Great Photos But In The Process Gives 110% For Each Shoot He Does. Although He Is Still A Student At The Art Institute Of Philadelphia I Believe He Has The Potential To Make It Professionally In The Real World!Theres Alot Of Wanna Be Photographers Out Here & Are Just Here To Get Over On You. Being As Though Robert Has Developed His Profession Very Well, He Has Humbled Himself Into Helping Others Persue There Dreams.

Who I Am Today!

This Post Is Dedicated To My Grandparents:

James Jr. Roy Butler

&

Mattie Lucille Butler

I Lost My Grandfather In 1995 I Was Only 5 & It Effected Me & My Family Tremendously! He Was The Rock Of My Family. He Held Our Family Together Through Thick & Thin. After He Passed My Grandmother Was Forced To Take The Responsibilty Of The Family. In The Household There Was, My Aunt(Scherraine) Her 3 Kids (Disheka,Delonte &, Desmond) My Mom(Sheila) Four Children(Dominique,Stephon,Me & DeMarcus) 2 Uncles & My Grandmother.

All Of These People On One Income. As You Can Imagine This Made It Very Hard For My Grandmother To Take On.Even Though This Was A Great Responsibility She Accepted It & Moved Forward For 9 More Years. My Grandmother Was A Very Strong & Independent Women That Taught Us The Same Values & Traditions She Was Taught As A Child. Her Journey On Earth Came To An End In July Of 2004. She Passed When I Was 14 Years Old Going Into My First Year Of High School.

I Say All This To Say My Grandparents Was A Great Inspiration To Who I Am Today. My Grandmother Taught Me Things That I Still Keep With Me To This Day & Its Because Of My Grandmother I Stand On My Own.I Myself Would Like To Thank Her & God Because Following Them Made Me Become God Fearing,Responsible,Mature & Independent!

MY GRANDPARENTS ALONG WITH GOD IS THE REASON I AM....
